South Australia – Inclusion, engagement and interconnection

Presenters from our South Australian partner, The Abraham Institute, spent most of Term 3 delivering Religion Studies workshops to upper primary school students. Several of these workshops were in the German Lutheran Barossa Valley, where some students had never met a Jewish or a Muslim person before. Many had never seen someone wearing a Hijab.
In order to create stronger connections for a vibrant and resilient future, the inclusion, engagement, and commitment of the widest possible variety of people is essential and necessary.

As part of The Abraham Institute’s partnership with Greenacres Library in Adelaide to deliver Interfaith Storytime sessions to preschoolers, this term Soukaina from the Muslim community read stories, created craft activities and sang and danced with the children.

Exposure to diversity is great on so many levels!
