Subject to availability, our presentations can be delivered in person in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, ACT and TAS. For programs in remote locations or where our team’s availability is limited, please view our distance / blended learning options or our self-directed online learning modules.
With a focus on the symbols, origins and significance of cultural and/or religious celebrations this presentation explores how celebrations can help us include and connect with others.
Years 3 – 4
Drawing on personal stories of migration, students gain an understanding of diverse peoples’ migration experiences and cultural practices and form a deeper connection with their own family histories and migration stories.
Years 5 – 8
In a quiz show-style presentation, students uncover the answers to some fascinating (and often surprising) facts about a panel of guest presenters from diverse cultural and religious background, leading to empathy, respect and a challenge of stereotypes.
Years 5 – 12
Through an interactive presentation and Q&A, facilitators from diverse cultures and faiths help students to examine their assumptions and stereotypes about Australian identity. The student-led discussion can address issues such as antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism and prejudice against First Nations peoples and other prejudices).
Years 5 – 10
Our SOR presentations provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of syllabus content and explore the lived experience of religious traditions with scholars and adherents of Muslim, Jewish, and Catholic faiths. All sesssions include an in-depth Q&A.
