Multi-Session or Full Day Program

Our intensive programs develop students’ understanding, attitudes and skills over a series of one hour sessions. Register or book below.

Participants develop their understanding of culture and religion in their own and others’ identities. They develop empathy as well as cultural understanding and sensitivity through participatory activities and discussions.

5 sessions (adaptable for Years 6 – 12)

Participants explore bullying, racism and prejudice as well as stereotypes and assumptions. They develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of  power, the sources of prejudice, as well as empathy and inclusion. The program focuses on developing proactive responses to racism.

5 sessions (adaptable for Years 6 – 12)

Participants explore personal identity, engaging with diversity and the importance of intercultural understanding. Participants define  personal and shared values and build skills and confidence to support inclusion. Communication and cooperation skills are taught through engaging activities and discussions.

5 sessions (adaptable for Years 6 – 12)

Participants explore the significance and opportunities of living on lands home to the world’s oldest continuing culture. Through discussions and interactive sessions, they develop a deeper awareness of Australia’s rich and complex history and map out positive pathways of respect and reconciliation.

4 sessions (adaptable for Years 6 – 12)

 

Short course: Student leaders are supported to develop skills and capacity to engage with people from different religious and cultural backgrounds. Participants are guided to consider different ways to engage with people from other cultural and faith communities while honouring and representing their own religious and cultural identities and experiences. Issues such as antisemitism, Islamophobia and prejudice against First Nations peoples can be addressed.

Long course: Developed by Scripture Union Australia, Cultural Hearing Asking & Telling (CHAT) is an eight week small group program designed to enhance and deepen empathy, encourage listening and understanding, explore diversity, and develop students’ self-reflection and dialogue skills.
