Together For Humanity’s student programs are funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Education and are free for schools to access. Donations are welcome and a small fee may be charged for expert speakers in the Studies of Religion courses.

It was a great experience. The sharing of stories and perspectives created a thread of shared humanity, emphasising common values and aspirations. The program not only promoted cultural appreciation but also served as a powerful reminder for me of the importance of dialogue in breaking down stereotypes and fostering a more inclusive society.

Together For Humanity programs for Primary and Secondary school students  are linked to The Australian Curriculum, the ACARA intercultural understanding continuum and to the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework. Our programs provide students with the skills and confidence to interact with people from different backgrounds and build respectful relationships with all.

Independent evaluations (WSU 2021 and WSU 2023) show that Together For Humanity programs help students:

  • challenge stereotypes and alleviate their fears of others
  • deal with prejudice and discrimination [including anti-Semitism and Islamophobia]
  • promote the acquisition of empathy and mutual acceptance
  • increase their sense of belonging and connection within the school community

Together For Humanity staff are trained teachers, youth workers, and community development specialists. We work with skilled volunteers to deliver outstanding programs that make an impact.

Our multicultural and multifaith facilitators represent Australia’s diversity and draw on lived experience as Australian Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders, refugees, migrants, and members of cultural and faith communities. They are selected for their excellent facilitation and relational skills, and are trained to support the learning journeys of young people in Australian schools. All facilitators are required to have valid working with children clearances.
